But in the 8 or so years since I've been paying attention, both their ambitions and their products have grown quite a bit. In addition to being able to glide up to 6 adults across their favorite body of water, the 15' x 8' Gosun Elcat is "one of the world's most energy efficient boats."
 
The Elcat is powered by a 1.3 kW electric motor and 1.3kWH battery battery that recharges via grid or solar power. It also comes with solar panels able to provide an additional 200 watts of power, extending a range Gosun says can already last all day at trolling speeds. (Top speed is 6MPH.)
 
Inflatable and packable, the Elcat electric boat is sized for carry in a van, truck, or SUV. It has a total weight of 264 pounds.
